Welcome to the Sewcialists!
Our goal is to build community and make everyone feel welcome. Our blog is here for everyone to share their sewing stories and to celebrate our unique identities and experiences. We support crafting as an inclusive and welcoming space for people of all ages, abilities, ethnicities, genders, orientations and sizes. If you sew, we want to hear your voice.
Sewcialists is a hyper-inclusive editorial site. We recognize that all of us make up an amazing and varied community. We ask that you take each challenge as you see it fitting in your life, and express your involvement how you like, at the given time. Our challenges are for the pure enjoyment of participation and the love of community.
We post Monday, Wednesday and Friday, thanks to the hard work of our volunteer team. We host over 100 authors a year, all of whom are volunteers from our community!
Over the last 6 years, the idea of a “Sewcialist” grew from a series of tweets to an active worldwide community. Follow us on Instagram at @sewcialists or contact us by email at sewcialists@gmail.com!

I hate that I’m shoving this comment here, but I can’t find a “contact us” button or any place to discuss website issues. Honestly, I am having a hard time with the website. Maybe because I’m using an older computer? I can’t scroll back to old posts–the page keeps bouncing up to the top! And as a new person I would like to look through the archives. I looked for a button that might lead to a simpler style of archive for older posts, but all I can find is the front page with the tumblr-style endless scroll which, as I said, does not seem to work properly for me. Is there an easier way to access old posts?
Hi! Thanks for letting us know! Can you see the 3 horizontal lines (like a hamburger) that are up in the top left? From there you can search, look in different categories and look at the archives month by month. I hope that helps you read our back catalogue more easily! You can also navigate through the header menu, to see all the Who We Are posts or posts from a particular theme month, for example. We’ll keep you comments in mind next time we do a website update!
Thank you! That’s easier to navigate. (off to explore)
It would be nice to be able to browse on a strictly chronological basis too, when you do consider adding features.
We’ll keep that in mind! One day we would love to have a custom website, but since we are all volunteer the finances are all out of pocket. Thank you for the feedback – it’s helpful!
