Hi Sewcialists!
Welcome to the third weekly round-up of patterns for this quarter’s TNT theme. I’m Claire (@claireecollie) and I’m not sure if the TNT button down shirt on my sewing table will be made up by the end of the month. Christmas present sewing has jumped the queue.
This week I’ve been collecting projects that have been posted on Instagram this week under the hashtag #sewcialistsTNT. If we missed you, it might be because you have a private account or we accidentally missed it, so please leave a link to your IG picture or blog post in the comments!
I organized this week’s IG posts by category, however @ailycia shared a whole outfit of TNT’s:
Dresses and Skirts
@sewdynamics TNT pattern is the Moneta dress from Colette
M6886 is a TNT for @tangerineshark. Does anyone else consider this popular pattern a TNT in their wardrobe?
@hayek.m83 says there are too many interesting patterns to make the same one twice, but has used Burdastyle 11/2015 #114 to make a dress, and two piece outfit.
Last week @tatsdent cut out an Upton dress, hoping it will become a TNT. We’re looking forwards to following her progress! (Check out her IG feed, she also creates amazing quilts!)
@pfont is another dress hacker who’s always in search of a twirly skirt
@syreetabriana combining two of her favorite TNT patterns, the Dartmouth top and Turner skirt from @cashmerette patterns, to create the Syreeta special
The Amy skirt is new to me, but is a TNT for @sew_genevieve. This week she also shared a beautiful summery dress.
Look at all the wonderful skirts by @sewadagio!
A quintet of cute dresses from @dotdotdot_handmade rounds out this week’s TNT dresses.
Tops
@bad_kitty_corsets discovered a TNT pattern this month with New Look 6471. She’s made one and has two more planned.
@cactus.in.a.teapot has made 1, 2, 3 Ogden Camis!
Knit tops
@dariartgeek, @aimeeshermakes and @frayedseams all shared Linden sweatshirts. It continues to be one of the top TNT’s among sewists –
– however @charnmo may have convinced me to try the Toaster sweatshirt because of the high cosy neck!
The neck band on @sewoldfashioned TNT tee-shirt is awfully cute!
@rachel_makes_stuff is making all us northerners jealous in her Free Spirit Tank dress.
@onepatternatatime isn’t following her handle with this pattern hack.
@michelleofatime
@stitchitagain
Button down shirts
@petitpassions TNT is the Alex shirt from Sew Over It.
@rocketsarah shares a Fairfield button up
@sabine_catbydesign has made 5 Carme blouses
Pants
@lesmafamafa was the only pants TNT this week, and has a pair of Morgan jeans in the works.
That’s a wrap for week three. If you need more inspiration, check out this week’s Sewcialist blog posts by Brittney who’s TNT is the Freya Dress, Erica who’s a Linden Sweatshirt enthusiast, Andrew who shares his undies, or Sue’s wisdom on how TNT patterns can improve sewing skills and design aesthetic.
TNT month is almost over, so don’t forget to post your favorite TNT’s before the 30th with the hashtag #SewcialistTNT. If we missed your post please leave a link to your IG picture or blog post in the comments!
