Tribute Month Round Up #4!

Sewcialists, THANK YOU! When I relaunched the Sewcialists blog in June, I really wasn’t sure if it would take off. Would anyone want to take part? It’s be such a joy to see the community grow this summer, and I’m so excited about where we are going next. (Spoilers: digging deep into who we are as sewists, and an upcoming vote on our next theme challenges!) Thank you to all the volunteers behind the scenes who have been writing, editing, and organizing posts three times a week for the past two months! And thank you, our readers, for taking part!

Now, on to our final round up! You can check out the first 3 round up posts here:  1, 2 and 3! This month was all about paying tribute to inspiring sewists, and I think it really highlighted how awesome our community is!

Truly, Clever Tinker needs more of this gorgeous green in her wardrobe!

There’s no one that handles colour and shape quite like Sue from A Colourful Canvas!

Andie knocked it out of the park on the blog with her Wonder Woman tribute to Tanya!

Continuing the nerdy theme, Emma made a Harry Potter dress!

There were a few tributes to Carolyn from Diary of a Sewing Fanatic, and for good reason!

I love this fresh and chic gingham!

2017 was the summer of the caftan, and Stitcher’s Daughter is definitely living her best caftan life!

Cute kid alert!!!

I love this maxi dress tribute to Margo from Creating in the Gap!

Isn’t this two-piece outfit chic?

Second and third #summerofbasics garments, squeaking in under the wire! Apologies for the bad photo exposure; black and white garments play together in person, and rebel in photos! The skirt is a lovely flared #Burda Mini Flounce Skirt (09/2015, #102), not an amorphous black blob. It's sewn in black rayon stretch georgette. The top is my Columba boxy top pattern, in a light and airy windowpane check cotton shirting. I was inspired by @kristi_sweetkm and @randomly_happy 's lou box top from @sewdiyblog and Maya top from @marillawalker , respectively. Can you tell I've really been loving Elizabeth Suzann this summer? #tributemonthsewing #handmadewardrobe#selfdraftedpattern #patternmaking

just barely squeaking this in, but here is my addition to #tributemonthsewing!! Desiree emailed us this elegant Keilo dress, inspired by Jasika – who, for my money, is one of the most inspiring sewists out there!

See? Marcy got inspired by Jasika too!

Marcy also did a post for us about this fabulous maxi!

My fellow teacher and Toronto sewist Andrea squeaked in her first-ever button-up just in time!

If we have missed your creation, PLEASE let us know below and we’ll add it in! We tried hard to catch everyone, and we don’t want to make any mistakes!

And with that – Tribute Month is over! We’ll have voting next week for upcoming themes and a few discussion posts each month, but other than that, the blog will go dormant for a while, until we gear up for our next theme month in November!

Thank you, everyone! What did you think of Tribute Month?
