Wow! We had an amazing response to our post last week asking for people to contribute posts! We’ve now go more than enough posts for Tribute Month – but don’t worry, there are other ways to take part!
First and foremost, make something for Tribute Month! Remember, the theme is paying tribute by another Sewcialist – that could be a blogger, vlogger, or someone who shares their sewing on Instagram! You might be inspired by a certain make, or by the overall style or approach of your sewing muse. (For example, this is the time to finally sew that gorgeous dress you pinned from another blogger, or to try that new pattern/fabric/technique that someone posted about on Instagram.) Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and we want to let the sewing world know how much it inspires us!
When you post about your make, tag us @sewcialists #tributemonthsewing on Instagram, and we’ll include your make in our end-of-month round-up. If you aren’t on IG but want to be included in the round-up, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with a photo or link to where we can find your creation. I hope you’ll also hashtag your work-in-progress shots so we call all find each other and share our inspiration!
If you are still hoping to write for the Sewcialists, there will be other chances! Once this theme month is done, we’ll be brainstorming themes for November, February and May. We’ve created a FAQ page for contributors if you are curious about the process of writing for us.
Helping out with the process of planning and implementing theme months are 14 fantastic volunteers who have joined our Sewcialists Blog Team group on Facebook. You may see them answering your emails, replying to comments, writing posts, and other behind-the-scenes tasks. *I’m no longer using the Royal We when I talk about “us” at the Sewcialists! Yahoo!* It’s not to late to join the Facebook group if you are interested! We’ll do a formal introduction to the team sometime soon.
We’ll start sharing inspiration posts soon, to get your creative juices flowing before Tribute Month officially launches on August 1st! Have you got a plan for your project yet?
