Hi Sewcialists! I’ve fallen horribly behind on organising things over here on the Sewcialist blog, but nothing is more boring than reading excuses, so I’ll stop there.
How would you feel about an “Underneath It All” sewing theme for July? Bras, knickers, slips,Β even corsets or pyjamas!Β Β No strict rules or particular sewalong, just a friendly push to try something new and/or refresh your lingerie drawer.
If you’d be interesting in writing a guest post, let me know in the comments! Could be:
- a pattern review
- a tutorial
- a resource round-up
- where to buyΒ materials online
- inspiration post
- or whatever you fancy!
Does that sound fun?
Sounds wonderful!
The only thing standing between me and a drawer full of me-made lingerie is information. I don’t know which pattern to buy, where to get all the doodahs, how to make it work the first time, etc etc.
Can’t wait for July π
Lol – that’s all, eh? We’ll see what we can do! I’m in the same boat – I always plan to order some kits, but then I worry about the cost! I think I’ll start simple with a some Watson bras. How about you?
Sounds right up my alleyway. What a great theme. Count me in!
Yay! It might be the blind leading the blind, but it should be fun!
I was thinking of making the Named Lane Slip next month. I can write a pattern review.
That would make a great post! I can’t think of anyone I’ve seen blog about it. Send me an email! π crafting.a.rainbow.blog@gmail.com
so i just figured out how to see replies on wordpress LOL I will send you and email of it next month π
Hello! I have a vintage slip pattern I’ve been meaning to sew–would you be interested in a guest post about that?
That would be great! Thanks, Allie! Send me an email at crafting.a.rainbow.blog@gmail.com
This is great. I’ve been wanting to participate in a challenge like this. I’ve had some great ideas brewing in the back of my mind on the for a while and not quit had the drive to dive into them yet. So excited for this one!
Oooh, excellent! I’m hoping it gives me a push too!
I think this is a great idea and would love to take part – I’d be happy to write a post too – PJs were one of the first things I ever made, and I have plans in mind to try out a couple of new ideas/patterns π
Super! Send me an email at crafting.a.rainbow.blog@gmail.com and let me know what you might like to post about!
Sounds like fun!
Lingerie – the final frontier, now that you’ve conquered outerwear! π
Hey, I might be able to do that! At least some pajamas. We’ll see if baby lets me feel up to it–here’s hoping, because none of my warm-weather ones fit!
Fingers crossed you have a very calm and happy baby who loves the sound of sewing!!!! π
Sounds good to me. I’ve been meaning to make something from The Secrets of Sewing Lingerie, so could do a little review of the book.
That’d be great! You’ve got editor access already, right? If it’s possible to draft the post by the end of June, that would help me see what posts we’ve got and spread them out over the month of July! π Thanks Charlotte!
Hello, I’m planning to get sewing this weekend so the post will be with you soon for scheduling!
Well, I guess July will be when I sew up all those Tofinos and Measure Twice Cut Once knickers I’ve been planning…
Between Sewing Dares and Lingerie sewing, I”m going to be keeping you busy in July! π
Hey Gillian,
I might be biting off more than I can chew here, but I’d love to write up a project tutorial for a lace robe of sorts. The idea’s been cooking in my head for some time and this could be the push I need. I think I finally know which direction I want to head in.
That sounds awesome!!!! Yes please! Send me an email at crafting.a.rainbow.blog@gmail.com and I’ll send you an invite to access the Sewcialist blog as an author!
