Happy New Year Sewcialists!! I’m Marrie, and I blog over at purlsandpleats. Now that it’s January, it’s time to get back to the monthly themes, and this month is polka dots!
I’m a polka dot lover, and have been looking forward to breaking out my dotted fabric this month. Polka dots are great because they work for almost any pattern you can imagine.
Dresses:
Skirts and Tops:
Even outerwear:
There’s also pajamas and loungewear, and for the bra-makers out there, maybe some pretty polka dot underthings:
If wearing polka dot clothing isn’t your thing, maybe a polka dot bag or a cute throw pillow:
I hope I’ve got you thinking all things polka dot for this month. If you sew along, remember to add your finished projects to the Flickr group, and use the hashtag #polkadotjanuary on Twitter and Instagram. Looking forward to seeing lots of spots this month!
Happy sewing everyone!
I want to make ALL THE THINGS!! I’ve got two pieces of black and white knit that I’ll be aiming to use… One will become a Lola, and one is terrible cheap ponte, but I think it could work as a raglan top. Thanks so much for organising this!
I love polka dots! I don’t know if I have any fabric unpacked though…
Ooh purdy!! 🙂
You couldn’t have picked a better print!! I LURVE spots!! 😀
I have been looking forward to this one for a while and saving my polka dot fabric! Great to be part of the monthly themes again – it seems ages since I last took part. Happy sewing in 2015! x
Yes! Can’t wait to bust into my Polka Dot fabric stash!
Polka dots woo hoo!!
It’s kind of a bummer that you have to have a flickr account for these. 🙁 My flickr account got deleted because it didn’t get used enough and I decided that Yahoo wasn’t going to get my cell phone number just to re-create my account. 🙁 It seems like a cute and fun idea though, I love polka dots….on other people. 😉
If you’d like to sew along, absolutely feel free too. 🙂 I think the originators of the Sewcialist website just picked Flickr as an easy way to share projects, if you want to. It’s definitely not a mandatory requirement, and I should have worded that part of my post more clearly. I’m planning to do a month end round up, and if you decide to sew along, and want to be included in that, feel free to send me an email (purlsandpleats[at]gmail[dot]com) with your pic, and I’ll add it in. But there’s no obligation to do that either. 😉
