The Sewcialists have really taken our monthly color themes and run wild with them! We’ve had an amazing response to both Red October and Green December, so we’re going to keep the fun going with Blue February!
Just like our previous theme months, the rules are simple. Sew something blue! It can be anything you want, as long as it is sewn. The blue can be an all over color, or simply the component of a print. You can colorblock blue or use it as an accent. As long as there is some blue somewhere, it counts.
Be sure to share with us your Blue February makes by using the hashtag #sewbluefebruary on Twitter, Instagram and other social media outlets. And if you’d like us to share your projects in our round up posts, be sure to upload some photos to Flickr and add them to the Sewcialist Flickr group.
Woohoo! Just one quick technical question– apparently my Green December photos didn’t work for the roundup. I do load all of my sewing-related photos onto Flickr as public, since I also use them for my blog, so I’m wondering if there’s any other settings I need to double-check to make sure that they’re accessible for the next time? Thanks!
Hmmm – Let me check into that! It’s also entire possible that I was just a bit braindead at the time and missed the HTML code somehow!
Fun! I’d love to join in!
Yay!
Yipee!! As soon as I finish up my Jungle January I am off to cut out a color blocked blue and green merino wool jersey Kitschycoo Penny Pinafore!
Oh my, that’ sounds gorgeous!
I”m surprised to realise that I don’t have much blue in my stash! Some navy jersey, and some royal blue ITY… Hmmm… what to make???
Yup, I’m in for Blue February. I have two options and was going to make both but one is a knit fabric, Ai yai yai. I already own the fabric, so have no idea how it will sew up. It is definitely not a tissue knit nor a microfibre so at least it is starting out with a fighting chance!
Maybe you could try cutting a little test strip of fabric to try serging/sewing… then you’ll know if it’s well-behaved or worth avoiding! 🙂
I’m in for Blue February!
I’d have a blue, blue (February) with out you! 😉
I just ordered a beautiful blue fabric to make a top out of! Hurray! I can participate in Blue February!
Can I hop on the Blue February bus too? Sounds like fun, as well as a great opportunity to bust a bunch of blue fabric from my stash!
This could be most of my wardrobe. I love blue in all shades.
